Course Outline
Course Objectives
This intensive
training program delivers a wide range of career-preparation skills in a
condensed and time-sensitive format. This course focuses on the skills
necessary in today's evolving legal industry, and allows graduates to apply
related functions within the demands of a multi-faceted law firm or in a
paralegal organization. In addition, graduates of this course will possess
extensive courtroom knowledge and skills which can be applied to a wide range
of situations in which Court Agents routinely appear. In addition, practical
orientation is constantly stressed through class exercises and training in an
actual courtroom set-up environment.
Career Options and
Opportunities
Due to today's increasing demands within the paralegal industry for
qualified, well trained individuals, graduates of this course can find
opportunities with many law firms who would require the skills offered by a
well trained paralegal. In addition, the tremendous growth within the
paralegal industry provides a full range of opportunities for graduates who
may wish to assist clients from every walk of life with a variety of
concerns. Additionally, as experience grows, self-employment opportunities
may exist.
Course Requirements
Entrance requirements
include a grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Some applicants may qualify for
mature student status if they are over 19 years of age and have at least one
full year of work experience. In addition, every applicant must submit to an
enrollment interview and successfully pass "entrance abilities tests"
administered at the time of enrollment.
Attendance and
Graduation Requirements
Requirements for

Marks are awarded on the basis of both independent and class exercises,
quizzes, tests and exams. An overall average of 60% is required as a minimum
