An
Introduction to Mr. Carl Franco
Founder
and principle instructor
Mr. Carl Franco
began his police career in 1951. Following a period of exemplary service,
he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant – with the distinction of being
the youngest on his force. A continued commitment to professional development
and an outstanding track record helped Mr. Franco reach the rank of Detective
with the eventual merit of being granted a special authority to search,
seize and arrest without a warrant.
Following a distinguished
career in the public sector of law enforcement, Mr. Franco retired from
the police force to seek new horizons in the field of private investigation.
In his new profession, Mr. Franco quickly learned that his police experience
did not adequately prepare him for the demands and challenges of the private
investigation field. The authority and requirements of his previous duties
relied on a badge and a gun. As a private investigator, he would rely
on a very different set of skills.
Mr. Franco faced the challenge
head-on and set about on a course of self-improvement and further professional
training. He acquired the skills and qualifications of an Insurance Adjuster
and Underwriter. He developed his people skills along with his professional
affiliations. With time, through hard work and perseverance Mr. Franco
carved a reputation which now spans North America, Europe, and the Middle
East. He has worked with many of the largest law firms, insurance companies,
adjusters and private organizations, where his outstanding capacity had
been rewarded through the trust of his clients.
Based on a lifetime of gathering
and refining his professional expertise, Mr. Franco set about on what
was at that time the almost insurmountable task of founding the most authoritative
academic institution through which he could share his vision, abilities
and know-how with a new generation of Private Investigators and Security
professionals.
Finally, in 1980 Mr. Franco’s
years of planning, preparation, and tireless efforts culminated in the
establishment of the Canadian School of Private Investigation and Security
(CSPI), an institution dedicated to professional advancement within the
private sector of law enforcement.
Today, Mr. Franco divides
his time between two successful private investigation agencies under his
Directorship and his “hands-on” approach to training and academic development
at CSPI.
