A Career in the Private Sector of Law Enforcement
Years ago, a careers as a qualified private investigator or security professional was a dream many people only imagined but were unable to achieve. The reason was simple -- there was no institution where one could enrol to learn the methods, systems and techniques of the professional private investigator.

In 1980, the Canadian School of Private Investigation and Security Ltd. (CSPI) was registered and approved as a private vocational school under the Private Vocational Schools Act. CSPI pioneers a new direction for the industry, and enjoys the distinction of being the first and foremost serious academic institution in Canada devoted specifically towards training individuals for careers within the private sector of law enforcement. Since its inception, CSPI has continued to deliver consistently high quality education and guidance to thousands of men and women who have walked through our doors and into a more exciting and challenging future.

Large Campus and Full Training Facilities Today, the experience we have gained in the field of specialized law enforcement training ensures our students continue receiving outstanding educational value, quality and timeliness. For example, we've focused our ability to systemize our courses and options by maintaining one single campus. Our facilities have grown to occupy nearly 10,000 square feet of training, administration and lab space. Our campus includes large comfortable classrooms, a student lounge, full darkroom facilities and a full scale courtroom for an added dimension of realism in our legal procedures training

Teachers Who Are Industry Experts
An important ingredient in CSPI's success is the experience and expertise of our instructors. The school's founder and principle instructor is a former Police Detective with a background spanning five decades of experience -- both in the public and private sectors. Our legal department is headed by a senior lawyer and our academic staff is drawn from the investigation, intelligence and security communities. In fact, all our staff members provide their time and special skills towards ensuring the highest level of competence and satisfaction possible for every graduate of CSPI.
Recognized in Canada and Around the World, CSPI, a truly Canadian Teaching Institution
With our unique expertise, CSPI has become internationally recognized. We have gained a worldwide reputation and have been asked to process admission requests from as far away as the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Closer to home, our students have come to us from as far east as Newfoundland and as far west as British Columbia, making CSPI a truly "Canadian" teaching organization. These students have included individuals with previous police, investigation and security experience, as well as those who were seeking an exciting career in a brand new field and had no prior experience.
Rewarding Course Selection and Options
At CSPI, we strongly believe in a simple philosophy. By concentrating strictly on the highly specialized areas of law, investigation and security training, we can provide our graduates with an unparalleled potential for success in a matter of months, rather years. Courses and training options reflect this philosophy, from traditional Private Investigation training, to our Court Agent/Legal Assistant (Paralegal) course, to our Security Protection Officer training program. And because our students come to us with a wide range of backgrounds, abilities and former experience, we offer a flexible approach to career training and development. In this way, each student can choose the level of training and schedule best suited to their individual circumstances and needs. Whether on a full or part time basis, our students can graduate into the field of their choice in a fraction of the time they might have expected.
